STEEL

Steel comes in a variety of different looks. Most of the looks have to do with coatings that you apply to the metal.

Mild Steel

Mild steel is nothing fancy. It is not treated to prevent rusting and is great for welding, car repairs, or even decoration.

Tread plate is a mild steel product with a diamond pattern on the top that gives it added traction. It is untreated against rust and most commonly used on the back of trailers or for ramps.

Galvanized

Galvanized steel is a sheet of mild steel that is coated with zinc to make it rust-resistant. It is mainly used for duct work.

Galvanneal

Galvanneal is a primed sheet of mild steel. This ready-to-paint metal takes all the hard work out of preparing your metal for paint.

STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel is an alloy, meaning it's made up of many different kinds of metals. Our stainless is grade 304, a non-magnetic, rust-resistant, food-grade material. We offer stainless in a couple of different finishes.

2B Finish

The 2B finish is not polished and doesn't come with a protective covering to ward off scratches. This is most often used in outdoor applications such as chimney caps.

4 Stainless Steel.jpg

#4 Finish

The #4 finish, or polished stainless, has a grain to it. It comes with a removable protective covering on one side to protect against scratches. It is most commonly used for backsplashes or countertops.

#8 Finish

The #8 finish is a chrome or mirror finish. It comes with a removable protective covering that protects against scratches.

SPECIALITY METALS

We offer a variety of specialty metals such as copper, tin, brass, and lead.

Copper is a rather soft metal that is often used for aesthetics. It can be used for countertops, range hoods, tabletops, chimney caps, and so much more.

Lead is a dense, malleable metal that is most commonly used for decoration and as protection from radiation.

Tin is an antiquated metal most commonly used for rustic crafts such as tin punching.

Brass is a decorative metal, most commonly used for door kick plates. 

ALUMINUM

Aluminum comes in different levels of hardness called grades. We mostly keep 3003, but also a small selection of 5052; both are softer, highly formable grades. Our aluminum is excellent for bending and fabricating, as it won't crack when formed. We also offer a variety of colors.

Mill

Mill finish aluminum has no special finish. It does not come with protective paper that wards off scratches. All of the mill aluminum is grade 3003.

Diamond

Aluminum diamond plate has a diamond pattern on one side that gives it some traction. It is mostly used for ramps or trailer flooring.

Anodized

Anodized aluminum has a durable, weather-resistant finish that is offered in a few different colors. Because of its superior finishing characteristics, 5052 aluminum is frequently used grade for this process.

Embossed aluminum is a regular mill finish aluminum pressed between two rollers, giving it a textured finish.

Painted

We offer a wide variety of colors. The sheets come with a protective paper that protects against scratches. These sheets are grade 3003.

Aluminum fly screen is fine mesh meant to keep out insects. 

PERFORATED

Perforated metal is mild steel that has been stamped with a pattern.

We offer round-hole perforated metal in various thicknesses, hole sizes, and staggered patterns. They are available in mild steel or grade 304 stainless steel.

Grecian is a mild steel sheet with a triangular pattern stamped out. It is used mainly for decoration, specifically in radiator covers and screen doors. 

FLATTENED EXPANDED

Flattened expanded metal is made of steel and is created by slicing and stretching the material, which creates diamond-shaped openings. We offer this in mild steel and stainless steel.

16ga. x 1/2" flattened expanded is a 16 gauge metal with the widest part of the diamond 1/2". We offer this in mild steel and stainless steel.

16 ga. x 3/4"

16 ga.  x 3/4" flattened expanded is a 16 gauge metal with the widest part of the diamond 3/4". It is commonly used as a bird screen in chimney caps. We offer this in stainless steel.

9 ga. x 3/4" flattened expanded is a 9 gauge metal with the widest part of the diamond 3/4". It is commonly used as a fire pit cover or as a window guard. We offer this in mild steel.

HARDWARE CLOTH

Hardware cloth consists of wire that is woven together and welded at the intersection points.

2 x 2 hardware cloth is wire that's welded together and forms a 1/2" x 1/2" opening. It is most commonly used as a bird screen.
